Toddler Program
The toddler class is your child's first experience with spending time with a group of children they do not know. It is the perfect setting for young children to learn to socialize, share toys, and spend time with someone other than Mommy or Daddy. Preschool is meant to be a fun learning experience for everyone; children, teachers, and parents. The extra curricular activity at the toddler level is a weekly music class. Children learn the words and motions to the songs quickly, and this turn out to be their favorite part of the week. Monthly calendars are sent home each month, letting you know what your child will be doing each day. We have a "color of the month" and our theme will be in line with that color. The main focus of the toddler class is to start the children off with a very happy and positive experience that will cause them to fall in love with going to school each day.
Two's Program
Our Twos program is a great way to introduce your two year old to time away from home. Children must be two years old to join the program. Children begin to learn simple routines and transitions. They participate in fun planned activities that include circle time, art projects, large motor play on our play ground or indoor recreation room, free play, story time, and daily devotions. Twos children do not need to be potty trained; each room is equipped with a changing table.
Parents may register their child for two to five days per week, and that schedule is theirs from September through May. Children in these groups develop friendships with staff and peers.
Three's Program
Three year olds are enthusiastic, inquisitive people. They have already developed a strong desire to do things for themselves, and this becomes an important part of the way they learn. At Little Church on the Lane Preschool, we foster this independence while still having fun learning. We provide an environment where children can initiate or be guided through stimulating, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences are utilized. Concepts are taught for socializing, understanding, multicultural awareness, and those directly relating to the weekly theme. We apply the concept of "teaching the whole child." This means providing children with opportunities to explore concepts through things like creative expression, motor skills, outdoor play, sensory activities, roll play, music, and reading. Our goal is simple, to meet each child's individual needs and help them become more self-sufficient, while creating an environment that will foster a love of learning!
Four's Program/TK Program
Our four year old program is centered on empowering our students with the skills they'll need to successfully enter Kindergarten the following year; giving them both the educational and emotional strengths needed to do so. Kindergarten has a major focus on routine and following instructions, while working independently, as well as, with others. Your child will gain confidence as they learn these skills in a loving, nurturing environment.
Our daily routine will be implemented in the first few weeks of class. We'll be focusing each week on a particular theme for a total learning experience. Each day will begin with hands on training, working manipulatives; story, calendar and center times, outside play, as well as music,.
